Choline informationThe metabolism of choline is closely interrelated to that of methionine, and methyl-folate, yet choline is at times treated by some nutritional specialist as a stepchild in nutrition. Choline is an interesting nutritional ingredient and it has been suggested that it be of use in the treatment of vitamin d toxicity. It is mainly found in the body in phospholipids, such as lecithin (phosphatidylcholine). Deficiency indicationsA deficiency of choline does not happen easily but if it is deficient it may lead to liver disease, raised cholesterol levels, high blood pressure as well as kidney problems, Choline deficiency may also manifest itself the inability to digest fats, stunted growth and fatty buildup in the liver.
